Week 4 – Bokeh // 2014 52 Week Photo Challenge // JPB Photography by Jessica P. Banks

Week 4: Bokeh

At first I wasn’t sure how I would shoot this.  It took me a couple of tries at shooting different things then I got to thinking: where is the bokeh most clear in the work that I have done.  Answer: ring shots at weddings.  So, I opted to shoot some jewelry.  I used a necklace that was given to me as a Christmas gift this year because I knew it would catch the light well.

These shots are straight out of the camera – I did not edit them at all.  The only thing I did to them was put them into the blog layout and I tossed a watermark on there.

Take a peek:

52 Week Challenge - Bokeh - Blog PostI used a macro lens for this challenge.  The hardest part was getting the heart in focus.  I shot these outside (as you can tell by the outdoorsy bokeh background) and the wind was blowing, so it made getting a crisp shot a bit of a challenge.

How’d I do?

Next week’s challenge: Natural Light.  Check back on Friday for the post :)

PS – just a reminder, in case you were wondering, {this} is the Challenge that I am following.
